Glimpsy is a parental advisory platform operated by Glimpsy (hello@glimpsy.uk). We help parents and guardians make informed decisions about children's media content.
Glimpsy is an Information Society Service directed at adults — specifically parents and guardians. It is not directed at children.
Glimpsy is designed to collect as little data as possible. We currently collect:
Data you provide: Child profile information (name, age, content preferences) that you enter voluntarily. This data is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.
Technical data: Basic server logs including IP addresses and browser type, retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.
Cookie consent: We store your cookie preference in your browser's local storage.
We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Glimpsy uses the following third-party services to operate:
TMDB (The Movie Database): We fetch content metadata including posters and synopses. TMDB's privacy policy applies to their service.
Google Fonts: We load fonts from Google's CDN. Google may collect basic request data.
Supabase: Our content database is hosted on Supabase. Content data (show information, ratings) is stored there. No personal user data is stored in our database.
As a UK resident you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Since we hold minimal personal data, most requests can be fulfilled by clearing your browser's local storage.

Glimpsy is a tool for parents and guardians, not for children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. Child profile data entered by parents is stored locally in the parent's browser only.
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do.
